RCSEd Diplomate Ceremony

On 23 August 2024, 10 of our Executive Committee members had the pleasure of volunteering for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) Diplomate Ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). This is a formal event to recognize and celebrate the achievements of new members who have completed their training or examinations to become Fellows, Members or Diplomates of the College. Speeches were given by distinguished members and leaders of the RCSEd community who shared their insights, experiences and advice.

Being in the midst of an incredible community of surgeons who are celebrated together with their loved ones and will be transitioning from training to practising surgery independently was inspiring for our Executive Committee members. This was also a platform for our volunteers to gain valuable mentorship from people who have already walked on the path that they plan to embark on. Undeniably, our volunteers’ passion and motivation to pursue surgical excellence in the future and commit to a lifetime of learning has been fueled by attending this event.
