RCSEd Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony

22 August 2024 was a historic day for MSSS as it was the day when the memorandum of understanding between the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) and MSSS was officially signed. The event was held in Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur with invited guests from the RCSEd as well as MSSS’ Executive Committee members. The memorandum of understanding was signed between the President of RCSEd, Professor Rowan Parks and the President of MSSS, Dr. Al Hassan bin Sajahan. 

This memorandum of understanding will pave the way for MSSS to have access to the RCSEd Library, providing exposure of internationally recognized academic material for our Malaysian medical students. Executive Committee members of MSSS will also be able to volunteer for several of the College’s activities, which includes the MRCS Part B examinations on an annual basis.

MSSS had the pleasure of participating in a networking dinner following the ceremony which gave our delegates the opportunity to speak to established surgeons who are a part of RCSEd and learn about the opportunities and challenges that await the new generation of surgeons.

This milestone will be a springboard to further elevate the quality of  surgical education for our Malaysian medical students and give rise to excellent and safe surgeons in the future.
